Wouldn’t you expect 2 the upper class, one star and one actress, to savor touching lips on the cinema, for the whole world to see? In an ideal world, yes, however in the real world, even the most expert of stars and starlets couldn’t stand kissing their costars. Some of these onscreen couples were too close of pals, as if they were brother or sisters offscreen. Others just wanted to get a rise out of the other when smacking lips. And, as anticipated with any random pairing of two individuals, a few of them were simply predestined to dislike one another. Be it offscreen hate or onscreen love, these actors, who absolutely hated kissing their costars, were still professional adequate to leave audiences with one excellent performance and movie.
Tobey Maguire – ‘Spider-Man’
When bitten by a genetically modified spider, a nerdy, shy, and uncomfortable high school student gains spider-like capabilities that he eventually need to use to fight evil as a superhero after tragedy befalls his household.
We may have gone through several Peter Parker/Spider-Man representations in the last 20 years, however Tobey Maguire’s upside down kiss to Mary Jane (played by Kirsten Dunst) in 2002’s Spider-Man is among the franchise’s most iconic scenes. Regrettable Maguire hated the minute. “There was rain pouring up or down my nose. I could not breathe and I was gasping for breath out of the corner of Kirsten’s mouth.”
